01/19…of the day

Verse of the Day:
“Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
~Rom 12:1-2

Quote of the Day:
“God asks us not to have faith in our faith, but faith in Him”
~Mrs. C E. Cowman

Lyrics of the Day:
“It seems that all my bridges have been burnt
But you say that’s exactly how this grace thing works
It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart
But the welcome I receive with the restart”

Verse of the Day:
“God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.”
~1 John 1:5-6

Quote of the Day:
“If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.”

~Benjamin Franklin

Lyrics of the Day:
“Hold on, hold on, let me get the words out before I burst
There’s no truth at all, poking at the giant eyes of ancient gods
Cool hats have failed, now it’s time for me to have my turn
Kiss me, kiss me, life is far too short to scream and shout”

Verse of the Day:
“In those days when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.  I will be found by you,” says the Lord.”
~Jer. 29:14

Video of the Day:
For as long as I can remember, my chest gets tight every time I see something like this; I get particularly emotional at things like the World Cup, or the Olympics.  The pride to wear those three letters on the front of your jersey must be beyond words. Dempsy’s facial expression at the end of this clip says it all!  To be honest I just couldn’t hold back the tears…shocker, I know.

Quote of the Day:
“Remember that all through history, there have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they seem invincible. But in the end, they always fall. Always.”

Verse of the Day:
“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.”
~James 5:7-8

Quote of the Day:
“A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature. ”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lyrics of the Day:
“Can’t seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms.
Nobody’s gonna come and save you,
We pulled too many false alarms.

We’re going down,
And you can see it too.
We’re going down,
And you know that we’re doomed.
My dear,
We’re slow dancing in a burning room. ”

Lyrics of the Day:
“This could be the very minute
I’m aware I’m alive
All these places feel like home

With a name I’d never chosen
I can make my first steps
As a child of 25

This is the straw, final straw in the
Roof of my mouth as I lie to you
Just because I’m sorry doesn’t mean
I didn’t enjoy it at the time

You’re the only thing that I love
It scares me more every day
On my knees I think clearer

Goodness knows I saw it coming
Or at least I’ll claim I did
But in truth I’m lost for words

What have I done it’s too late for that
What have I become truth is nothing yet
A simple mistake starts the hardest time
I promise I’ll do anything you ask…this time”

03/05…of the day

Verse of the Day:
“The Lord will march forth like a mighty hero;
he will come out like a warrior, full of fury.
He will shout his battle cry
and crush all his enemies.
He will say, “I have long been silent;
yes, I have restrained myself.
But now, like a woman in labor,
I will cry and groan and pant.
I will level the mountains and hills
and blight all their greenery.
I will turn the rivers into dry land
and will dry up all the pools.
I will lead blind Israel down a new path,
guiding them along an unfamiliar way.
I will brighten the darkness before them
and smooth out the road ahead of them.
Yes, I will indeed do these things;
I will not forsake them. ”
~Is 42:13-16

Quote of the Day:
“Cherish your visions and your dreams, as they are the children of your soul and the blueprints of your ultimate achievements”
~ Napoleon Hill

Lyrics of the Day:
“Mama said I never should have done it
Should have ended us before we ever started
Daddy knew about my pride so he stood there
And he smiled inside and I pretended that I
Didn’t notice a little tear that fell when I said I was going

An I’ll grab the wheel and point it west
Pack the good and leave the rest
I’ll drive until I find the missing piece
You said I wouldn’t get too far on a tank of gas
And an empty heart
But I have everything I’ll ever need
I got this old guitar and a brand new set of strings

I’ve worried about life and
If it’s arriving right on time
I guess if you don’t jump
You’ll never know if you can fly”
