Lyrics of the Day:
“I was standing there crying in the kitchen
It’s been one of those mornings that’s gonna last all day
And he comes in, wraps his arms around me
And I don’t even have to say a thing

That’s what makes it love
That’s what makes it a love song”

07/28…of the day

Verse of the Day:
““May your money be destroyed with you for thinking God’s gift can be bought! 21 You can have no part in this, for your heart is not right with God. ”
~Acts. 8:20-21

Quote of the Day:
“There comes a time when you can only run so far from Love. And then, he catches you. Love is not what you think. No one can fathom His ways. Oh, we would like to. But Love is the greatest mystery known to man, the most unstoppable force. God is Love. God is Holy. God—we cannot understand Him. He is the love for which the world looks. The love for which the world desires. We look for Him in a thousand ways, in a thousand places! He is not a feeling, or a philosophy, or an idea. He is the only one who matters. We must pursue Him, because He has pursued us. He chases us in the darkest times, in the silence. We wonder what Love is, but there He stands. His love does not change, His love does not stop. In our most unworthy times, He is there—with His undying, unconditional acceptance—reckless, even.

We have scorned Him in every way. Each day we bring Him fresh disappointment. Too many days we have turned our backs on Him, ignoring His words. Unworthy, we break His heart. But always, He accepts, casting our faults as far as the east is from the west.

We will never love, real love, until we have received His. We will never live life more than empty, unless we live life following Him. Sometimes faith may feel blind, the dance unsure, as He takes the lead. But through it all, we must listen to the whisper that says, ‘Trust me.’ ”

Lyrics of the Day:
“If it’s gonna be a rainy day
There’s nothing we can do to make it change
We can pray for sunny weather
But that won’t stop the rain
Feeling like you got no place to run
I can be your shelter ’til it’s done
We can make this last forever
So please don’t stop the rain ”

Lyrics of the Day:
“You leave home and you move on and you do the best you can
I got lost in this old world and forgot who I am

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
This brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here it’s like I’m someone else
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I could just come in I swear I’ll leave
Won’t take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me

Verse of the Day:
“It’s necessary to obey God rather than men. The God of our ancestors raised up Jesus, the One you killed by hanging him on a cross. God set him on high at his side, Prince and Savior, to give Israel the gift of a changed life and sins forgiven. And we are witnesses to these things. The Holy Spirit, whom God gives to those who obey him, corroborates every detail.”
~Acts 5:29-32

Verse of the Day:

~Acts 4:31

Poem of the Day:
“i carry your heart with me
(i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it
(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear no fate
(for you are my fate,my sweet)
i want no world
(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart
(i carry it in my heart) ”
~”I Carry Your Heart” by E.E. Cummings

Lyrics of the Day:
“I’m gonna stop in the middle
Hang my feet off the edge
I got no reason to worry
I know I’ll find the end
That’s where you’ll be waiting
I hope you don’t forget
That I won’t quit till I find you
No matter the risk

Wherever you are
Where will you be
Are you the same or
Dreamin after waiting only for me
Waiting for love
Waiting for the same or
Dreamin on the other side hoping that
No matter how far I’ll find my way to you
Followin a rainbow”

Quote of the Day:
“Phyllis:     Angela, you’re going to move this for the party right?  It’s not on theme.
Angela:      It’s the nativity scene.
Phyllis:       Alright. You can keep your camel, the sheep, elephant and the North African king can stay. Everything else goes into the drawer.
[cut to talking head]
Angela:      I am not going to judge Phyllis for desecrating Christmas.  There is one person who will though, and Phyllis just stuffed him into a drawer.

Lyrics of the Day:
“May the vision of You be the death of me”
~“Vision of You” by Shane & Shane

This has been one of my favorite lyrics in the past year, this is why…

What if only the VISION (=our very limited ability to see/conceive/understand) of God was enough to be the death of us.  Every day.  What would be accomplished in our lives, in our communities, in our world, if our OWN desires died solely on what we even barely understand God to be.  Here’s the thing, the truth is He is so, So, SO, much more than even what our vision of Him could ever be.

So my questions then becomes (and this thought makes my stomach get queasy, and my palms sweaty)….how can the “Vision of Him” not be “the death of me”
